Experience

Sakib joined Raymond James Ltd. in December 2023 as a Portfolio Analyst. In this role, he conducts investment research, executes portfolio rebalancing and trading, and leads automation and reporting initiatives that improve investment analysis and strategy execution. With over six years of industry experience, he brings a unique blend of technical and financial expertise and is committed to upholding the highest professional standards.

Before joining Raymond James, Sakib worked at Flann Financial Group Ltd., where he supported trading, portfolio analytics, model portfolio development, and financial planning. He also developed tools to automate rebalancing and enhance reporting workflows, contributing to the team's operational efficiency.

Earlier in his career, he held analytical and managerial roles at Maya and IPDC Finance in Bangladesh. His responsibilities spanned financial modeling, budgeting, credit assessment, and digital transformation, with exposure to large-scale strategic projects in collaboration with firms like PwC and IBM.

Sakib is fully licensed with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) as a Registered Representative and has completed several advanced courses in data science and programming. He approaches his work with clarity and purpose, aiming to deliver thoughtful, practical solutions that help clients achieve their financial goals.

Originally from Bangladesh, Sakib moved to Canada with his wife, Tasneem, in 2022 and now lives in Burnaby, British Columbia. He is fluent in English and Bengali and conversational in French and Hindi.

Outside of work, Sakib enjoys playing guitar, attending concerts and sports events, reading books, listening to podcasts, exploring new places, travelling, watching movies and series on Netflix, and volunteering his time to causes he cares about.
